The Army-Navy Game is significant on many levels. Most importantly, as an opportunity for our community to honor and recognize the former, current and future men and women of our armed forces and their families for their sacrifices on our behalf. In addition, the event serves as a major boost to the region’s hospitality industry, hosting 50,000 visitors each December, generating $35 million in economic impact, and truly serving the role of Philadelphia’s “Bowl Game.” Through Red, White & You, we also utilize the game as a platform to introduce core values to our region’s young people.
Since 2003, this partnership between the Philadelphia Army-Navy Host Committee, Philadelphia School District and the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau Foundation has hosted more than 4,000 young people at the game. In addition to introducing Army-Navy (and all of the positive values that the academies represent) to these students, this tax-deductible program has generated revenues vital to producing Army-Navy Weekend and maintaining its future in Philadelphia.
